Meet Joanne
My name is Joanne. I am 50 years old. I live with my 3 children, 2 dogs and 2 cats. I love the outdoors, arts and crafts and I make jewellery as a hobby. I am the owner of Simply Youthful Aesthetics & Skincare. My clinic is based in Llangollen, North Wales.
My journey into the aesthetics industry began in 2019, but prior to this I had worked as a nurse for many years. I qualified as a Mental Health Nurse in 2003 and have worked in both in-patient and community services as a Senior Practitioner and in managerial roles. I continue to work in the NHS.
I developed a passion for aesthetics after researching treatments for myself. One of my biggest fears was looking unnatural and I was tired of seeing posts of over inflated lips and women generally looking overdone. I remember thinking at the time “𝙄𝙛 𝙄 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙖𝙮, 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙗𝙚 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤𝙤”. I found an article about a clinic owned by a nurse who strived to provide natural looking enhancements and this inspired me to train in aesthetics. Since my initial training, I haven’t rested on my laurels and have continued to invest in regular training in advanced techniques and updates. I qualified as an Independent Nurse Prescriber in 2022 and have also gained experience at a prestigious aesthetics clinic in Liverpool city centre. I introduced medical grade skincare and skin resurfacing treatments to my clinic earlier in the year after training with pHformula. I’m finding that medical grade skincare is a valuable addition to my services and I have recently invested in a skin scanner that provides an in-depth analysis of the skin, enabling a more thorough and evidence based skin consultation for clients.
I aim to give every client the best experience, from our first meeting, the treatment and through to aftercare. When you come on your journey with me, it begins with a thorough consultation. This is vital to treatment outcome and it’s also an opportunity for you to get to know me before your treatment.
I know trusting someone with your face is a big deal and this isn’t something I take lightly.
I feel comfortable with my age and I have no desire to look 20 years younger or change the way I look. My ideal clients share the same values. I feel that every woman, no matter their age, should feel confident about the way they look. My existing clients will tell you that I provide a professional service but I also have a cracking sense of humour. I don’t take myself too seriously and my clinic is a warm and welcoming environment.
